About

I am a PhD student at Université de Montréal. The original goal of this blog was to post things like reflections that didn’t make it into course work due to space limitations, my own thoughts on the PhD process, fieldnotes, etc. Along the way, it became a space for reflecting about life in Chisasibi, Quebec, an Eeyou (Cree) community on the eastern coast of James Bay where I spent a year doing PhD research. At some point, I also began to use it as a space to comment on news pieces, especially things dealing with Native rights, social justice, anti-racism and so forth.

Please feel free to comment on anything! Any comments demonstrating bigotry of any kind (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, sizeism, ageism, ableism) or being disrespectful toward me or other people who left comments will be deleted.
